304 Announcements

Welcome to the classroom bulletin board. Generally, I will post announcements here AFTER they have been announced and discussed in class. This page will serve only as a reminder and a running log of work throughout the quarter.

• First day of Class--Hope you had a good time.  If not, try harder.
• Syllabus--please make sure you read it through.  I made some of the modifications we discussed today.  Hope this helps, in a constructive way :)
• Monday, January 13^th Assignment--Bring your first set of self authored questions to class.  Also, this is the first of our special event days as outlined on the syllabus.  Put on your thinking hats and get to it!  Remember, the theme is planets and space, and you should creatively present a SINGLE geologic concept couched in one of the presentation styles as outlined.   Each student should receive at least single appropriate handout, annotated with the K-8 science standards it addresses.   Also, please share your stuff with the rest of the class--I will provide the copies if necessary.  
• Materials for Special Events and Group Exploration--If you need copies of materials to hand-out to the class, or other stuff to make your experiments and projects, please let me know in advance and we will try to help (within reason!).
• Media stuff--Lots of good articles in the news recently for your portfolios.
• Rock collection--Are you interested in making a rock collection for extra credit?--remind me and we'll discuss it.
