Play Dough

(Home Economics Recipe)

Ingredients:

• 2 cups boiling water
• 2 1/2 cups flour
• 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
• Paste food coloring
• 1 tablespoon alum
• 1/2 cup salt

Put oil and food coloring in boiling water. Spoon over dry, mixed ingredients. Knead well as it cools.

Adding extra salt will produce a stiffer dough. Food coloring not mixed with boiling water and oil will clump and stain hands.

Store in plastic bags.

Paste food coloring works best. Good colors include pink, blue, green
