Course Description

430. Engineering Geology

A survey of issues and techniques pertinent to geology as it applies to engineering of structures. Soil and rock mechanics; mass wasting rocesses; water-related issues; land subsidence; seismic hazards. Field trips required. Three hours lecture and six hours laboratory, some of which will be conducted in the field.

Prerequisite: GEOL 360.
