Honors and Awards

Departmental Honors

A graduating senior will be awarded departmental honors in geology after meeting the following requirements:

1. A grade-point average of at least 3.5 in all geology courses, with a minimum of five geology courses taken at this university;
2. Satisfactorily complete GEOL 597. Senior Honors Research;
3. Application for candidacy for departmental honors must be made at the beginning of the senior year. Approval of the candidacy rests with the department.
