Transfer Students

Lower Division Transfer Requirements

  1. Complete lower division GE requirements as follows:

    Area A - Communication in English Language and Critical Thinking (9 semester units)
    A1 - Oral Communication
    A2 - Written Communication
    A3 - Critical Thinking

    Area B - Physical Universe and its Life Forms (9 semester units)
    B1 - Physical Science
    B2 - Life Science
    B3 - Laboratory activity associated with B1 or B2
    B4 - Mathematics/Quantitative Reasoning

    Area C - Arts, Literature, Philosophy, and Foreign Languages (9 semester units)
    C1 - Arts (at least one course)
    - Humanities (at least one course)

    Area D - Social, Political and Economic Institutions and Behavior; Historical
    Background (9 semester units)
    At least 2 disciplines
    Complete graduation requirements in US History, Constitution and American Ideals

    Area E - Lifelong Understanding and Self Development (3 semester units)

  2. CSU transfer requirements for Geological Sciences

    Complete Introductory Geology course with lab - equivalent to GEOL 101 at CSUSB (satisfies B1 and B3 GE requirements)

    Complete Calculus 1 - equivalent to Math 211 at CSUSB (satisfies B4 GE requirements)

    Complete General Chemistry for Science Majors with corresponding lab (equivalent to CHEM 205 (BA) or CHEM 215 (BA/BS) at CSUSB

  3. Additional transfer requirements for Geological Sciences at CSUSB

    Bachelor of Arts
    Physics - 1 year sequence
    Equivalent to PHYS 121-123 or PHYS 221-223

    General Education
    Any course in C, D, and/or E GE categories not specified in required GE Transfer Package to satisfy the number of units required to transfer after satisfying Physics requirement

    Bachelor of Science
    Physics - 1 year sequence
    Equivalent to PHYS 221-223

    Chemistry
    Second course in General Chemistry with lab
    Equivalent to CHEM 216 at CSUSB

    Mathematics
    Calculus 2
    Equivalent to MATH 212 at CSUSB
